Bone Thugs-N-Harmony

Wish, Layzie & Krayzie

Alright, just a simple short review because I still dont feel like writing yet but its coming back slowly.  so its been a rough last few weeks and the last few days in particular and just when I think it couldnt get any better, the long anticipated 8th studio album by Bone Thugs N Harmony is finally released!!!!

It’s been a lonely run for me during the last week and with Mothers Day and everything the sadness has been my only friend (or enemy??). So when Bone dropped their album on May 3rd (or 4th?) I wasnt really into snapping it up even though I’d been waiting excitedly like millions of other fans around the world.

But a couple of days ago I needed something to shift my energies so I decided to mess around on youtube and came across one of the songs named Gone ft Ricco Barrino, from the Uni 5 album. It lifted me so much I went and got the album straight away and I’ve been listening to it ever since.

Meet Me in the Sky featuring K-Young is powerful with an amazing hook by K-Young this song shows the incredible versatility Bone Thugs showcase so well. Check the official video out below Read the rest of this entry ?

Biscuits & Gravy: A True Delicacy

We had a great conversation about biscuits and gravy and it was a good convo. Considering I never eat meat, this dish is now first on my must have list. Read the rest of this entry ?

Me: “Well have you thought about trying meditation? Its pretty simple and easy to learn.”

Passerby: “…um… well… yeah I’ll have to look into that sometime…” (shifts uncomfortably)

Clueless to the Romance

February 13, 2010

With Valentines Day in the air, there’s a tumble of the lovey dovey vibes raining down all over the place. Isn’t there? Well, for some Romeo & Juliet’s there are. As for the rest of us there’s just a bewilderment of commercial guilt, gift giving ultimatums and the pressure to be romantic.

I am not the most romantic person in the world and even though I love the tender sensual moments, I struggle with the planned romantic times. Like romantic evenings, or planned romantic walks along the beach… all that kind of stuff. Let’s just say Im pretty clueless when it comes to creating or planning romance, but I guess Im better when it comes to spontaneous tender moments (you know, those moments that make you feel overcome with lovey doveyness).

But what is romance? And how can you measure it in a loving relationship? Read the rest of this entry ?

Stress: What are you exposed to?

January 25, 2010

We’ve read about children being exposed to violence and profanity, from their environments as well as the media and we know they are subconsciously absorbing this behavior which can manifest in their own actions when they become older.

But children aren’t the only ones exposed to negativity in their environments. We too, as adults, are constantly exposed to subliminal stimulation.

And it makes sense, right? If you are constantly around a particular environment or person it can play havoc on your own subconscious thought processes. We take on subliminal messages visually, aurally as well as physically. Consider the ads you see on TV, the repetition of some images will stay with you and effectively create an emotional attachment so whenever you see the image you feel happy/sad/whatever.

With this in mind it becomes a little easier to see how we are affected by what we are exposing ourselves to.
